How to prepare for TNPSC General English Questions?

Tips to Prepare for General English

1) First take the print out of your Syllabus

2) Write down in your own hand writing, the syllabus in any notes or papers of your choice

          Eg: For Part B 1st topic…in the syllabus if it      is given like this

Mention the poets and poems

Bat –The Psalm of life –The Flying wonder ….etc

You have to write it down in vertical with no’s

Ex.:
1. Bat
2. The Paslm of Life
3. The Flying wonder

3) Strict to the syllabus- Equal weightage is given for all the Parts A, B & C. so don’t leave anything.

4) Follow Samacheer English books from 6th to 10th and Tamilnadu text books 11th& 12th

5) Part A- Grammar …Read the grammatical part given in the back of each lessons in the book

6) Part B& Part C - Try to write the poem and poets like match the following pattern

7) Same as like the Short stories and authors

8) Short stories and the Nationality

9) Short stories with the characters

10) Autobiography and bio graphy try to search in Internet as well as in our school books itself for the famous personalities like Gandhiji, Nehru, Abdul kalam, etc.

11) Famous quotes also same thing ---try to find out for the Poets which are given in our syllabus as well as famous personalities.

12) British English and American English – Available in book itself..That is more than enough

13) about the authors and dramatist – Given in our book itself

14) Try to follow previous year question papers …it is more than enough

15) Figures of speech – Everything is available in books itself

16) your books are the best source, you can cover all the portions as per syllabus.
